Part 6 – Cape Town to Rio on the Regent Seven Seas Mariner
In keeping with Regent’s all-inclusive policy, most of the excursions are included for no additionial charge. You must make reservations which can be done on-line pre-cruise or on the ship. A few tours have an extra fee that can be added to room charges. For instance, a 2 1/2 hour flight in a small plane in Namibia was $499 extra. The included tours have been great so far. The only bit of aggravation can come from getting to the start of the tour. You must READ your ticket to find out where your tour departs from as it changes with each tour. One day we walked off the ship down the pier, expecting to meet our bus only to be told we had to go all the way back to the Lounge on ship where we were to start from.
We were wait listed for a couple of tours that were fully booked initially; we were pleasantly surprised when our tickets arrived in our cabin. If the tour you want isn’t available, by all means get on the waitlist. Since the tours are “free,” some passengers will pre-book a full slate of tours but then cancel some later.
