Jamaica Gets Green Light to Build Falmouth Cruise Ship Terminal

On Saturday, HSBC agreed to provide the Jamaican port town of Falmouth $122 million to build a port to handle the world’s largest cruise ships, including The Oasis of the Seas.

The new port will attract nearly a million visitors per year, and create around 500 construction jobs and 900 permanent jobs.

Royal Caribbean has already invested $102 million in the project, and will lead efforts on landscaping and construction of shops and restaurants in Falmouth.

The new port is located just east of Montego Bay which is currently one of the busiest cruise ports in Jamaica.
