For the first time in history, Disney Cruise Line will be traveling to Juneau, Alaska.

Disney announced last Friday that it would sail the 1,750 Disney Wonder to the capital 18 times starting in 2011, which including crew would bring about 45,000 additional visitors to the city.

“Knowing that in 2011 we are going to have new ships back in the market is certainly going to be good for employment opportunities,” said Lorene Palmer, CEO of the Juneau Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Juneau already saw four ships cancel the stop amid the current economic state, but has already seen two new ships schedule visits including the Disney Wonder.

Sailings will be out of Vancouver, B.C, and prices will start at $939 per person.
