Unless you’re in the automotive business, there may not be many reasons to go to Detroit anymore. However, the city is constructing a new port that it hopes will attract cruise ships to the struggling city.
The $21 million dollar project is being funded in part (around $7 million) by federal recovery money.
Senator Carl Levin said people are going to be able to come to Detroit across the river, up the river, down the river . . .just the way the first visitors did 300 years ago.
